Creative Mom Finds Funny Way To Share How She's Feeling About Her Pregnancy From Week To Week

"I decided to share it with everyone in the hopes of helping other mothers realize that it’s OK to not have it all figured out.”

What's A-Parent is a series highlighting those who get real about the hardships that come with raising kids. These often untold stories help show parents they are not alone in their struggle, and are doing an amazing job.

Pregnant women are used to being asked how they're doing, but this mom found a clever way to let people know unprompted. Mom-of-two Maya Vorderstrasse tracked her recent pregnancy in a funny photo series by writing how she's feeling on a letter board.

From having a "wild bladder" to not being able to fit into her shoes, she acts out the way she's feeling during different stages of her pregnancy next to the letter board. Sometimes, her partner also helps her convey the message.

Vorderstrasse started sharing these photos on her Instagram back in May, and continued to post them every few weeks. She gave birth to her daughter two weeks ago, just one day after she posted her 40 weeks pregnant photo

She was inspired to start the funny photo series after noticing other pregnant women were only sharing flawless photos online.

"Honestly I was so tired of seeing motherhood portrayed as perfect, flawless, and effortless on social media, because I never felt like it was like that for me," Vorderstrasse told HuffPost. "So I embraced my chaotic life, and decided to share it with everyone in the hopes of helping other mothers realize that it's OK to not have it all figured out."

Since giving birth to her daughter, she's continued to use the letter board to bring humor to difficult postpartum topics such as breastfeeding and sleep deprivation. We can't wait to see how her letter boards progress as her children get older.

You can check out some of Vorderstrasse's photos below.
