What's A-Parent

11 Adorable Comics That Show The Complicated Sides Of Parenting

Parenting can be a worthwhile struggle.

What's A-Parent is a series highlighting those who get real about the hardships that come with raising kids. These often untold stories help show parents they are not alone in their struggle, and are doing an amazing job.

No one ever said parenting was an easy job, but at least we can all laugh about the hard parts.

Illustrator Liesbeth Ton creates comics that showcase some of the ridiculous things that can happen in a parent's day-to-day life. The mother of three shares her work at her website Betje.com and reminds parents that they're definitely not alone. Kids throw tantrums, make confusing decisions, and work really hard to make their parents' lives difficult.

Ton posted some of her lovely comics to Bored Panda recently, which has caused more and more parents to discover them. "I'm hitting 10 years of motherhood by the end of this year and along the way, I made a lot of cartoons about this adventure," she wrote in the Bored Panda post. "Yes, the kids brought a lot of meaning, love and joy, but let's face it, the struggles are the funniest (for others at least)."

Luckily for Ton, her children are fans of her work, too. "They love to read them, although I wonder if they really understand them," Ton told Huffington Post. "Because my work is mostly about stuff they do all the time, that is weird for grown-ups but completely normal to them."

Her kids may not fully understand them, but parents everywhere will. You can check out some of Ton's illustrations below:
