Prepare To Be Moved By An Empowering Dance Set To A Song From ‘The Greatest Showman’

"Take something negative and turn it into something positive."

The Way You Move celebrates dancing and choreography videos that showcase fancy footwork in genres as diverse as ballet, hip-hop, tap, ballroom, and more. Learn a new routine the first Thursday of each month, and throughout the calendar when you get the urge to move.

In life, you should never have to apologize for simply declaring "This Is Me." Thanks to a fierce cover of the Oscar-nominated song of that name from The Greatest Showman — and an empowering dance routine set to it — we're reminded of that all-too-important lesson.

Travis Wall, a former runner-up of and choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance, produced, directed, choreographed, and danced along to the vocal legend that is Broadway darling Shoshana Bean singing a jaw-dropping cover of "This Is Us." The combination of these two, as well as the inspiring concept, wins us over with a call for LGBTQ acceptance.

"Fag. Unworthy. Small. Reckless. Invisible. Failure. Weak. Sinner. Vile. Homo. A few words that have been used against me," Wall, who has two Primetime Emmys for the work he's produced, wrote on Instagram. "Message is simple, take something negative and turn it into something positive. Bold. Worthy. Strong. Safe. Standout. Champion. Brave. Survivor. Beautiful. Perfect."

As NewNowNext points out, Bean is the one who recorded the original demo of "This Is Me" but it was Keala Settle who sings the song in The Greatest Showman. It's great to be able to hear Bean's rendition now — and coupled with Wall's movements, it's just the cherry on top.

Given the fact that this performance is for the LGBTQ community, it's not surprising that Wall and Bean note in the video that proceeds from every stream and download of their "This Is Me" collaboration will go to benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
