71-Year-Old Dancer's Acrobatic Routine Earns Golden Buzzer On 'America's Got Talent'

"You inspired everybody, of all ages."

The Way You Move celebrates dancing and choreography videos that showcase fancy footwork in genres as diverse as ballet, hip-hop, tap, ballroom, and more. Learn a new routine the first Thursday of each month, and throughout the calendar when you get the urge to move.

We've seen quite a few singers earn the Golden Buzzer on this season of America's Got Talent, but this week the honor instead went to an impressive pair of ballroom dancers — 71-year-old Quin Bommelje and her 35-year-old partner Misha Vlasov.

It was the pair's second performance, following their initial audition. According to Entertainment Tonight, Bommelje revealed on the show that she only started ballroom dancing 10 years ago, when she and her husband took a class. "I realized dance was my dream," she explained. "After three years, my husband can't keep up with me … and after that I had to find a young man to dance with."

Quin and Misha put on an acrobatic routine involving several lifts, spins, and splits. The audience went wild for their performance — including Bommelje's supportive husband. "At 71, that's insane," judge Heidi Klum commented as she gave the pair a standing ovation. She added that Bommelje is an "incredible woman."

Guest judge Martina McBride was also impressed. "You know, you say you want to inspire people of a certain age, but you inspired everybody, of all ages. Truly a remarkable performance," she said. She liked it so much, in fact, that she chose to hit the Golden Buzzer and send them straight to the live shows.
