Taylor Swift Brought The Drama And Then Stripped It Down For This Weekend's 'SNL'

We love the "Reputation" era already.

Host Tiffany Haddish's history-making episode of Saturday Night Live this weekend also featured two live musical performances from none other than Taylor Swift. Although the singer didn't appear in any sketches during the broadcast, she definitely made an impression on stage.

Swift performed two songs from her latest album Reputation, which showed off two sides of her style, both of which she pulled off with confidence. She started with a fierce rendition of "...Ready for It?" that showed off a bit of the "New Taylor" — complete with a flashy snake microphone as a wink to her detractors.

The 27-year-old strutted around the stage with her backup dancers, occasionally showing off a few moves of her own. All the while, fog filled the stage as lights flashed various colors behind them. It stood in contrast with the second performance of the night, a stripped-down rendition of "Call It What You Want," which Swift performed seated on a stool strumming her guitar.

Swifties were excited to catch the singer's appearance on the show Saturday night, and even got the hashtag #TaylorOnSNL trending on Twitter. As one fan wrote of Swift's performances, "She gave us everything."

Swift debuted her sixth studio album, Reputation, on Friday, premiering song "New Year's Day" shortly before with a pre-recorded performance for fans at her Rhode Island home. The album is already breaking records, selling 700,000 copies on the first day, which Forbes points out is more than any album sold in an entire week this year.

SNL marked the singer's first televised live performance of the Reputation era — and we're looking forward to seeing more.
