Trigger warning: This post discusses suicide.

Singer Rita Ora paid fitting tribute to the late DJ Avicii over the weekend while performing at a Netherlands music festival. According to Billboard, Ora led the crowd at the 538Koningsdag Festival in a moment of silence before performing "Lonely Together," her collaboration with Avicii which was also his last single.

"I had the honor of collaborating with somebody who changed my life, and he was a really good friend of mine," Ora told the crowd of the 28-year-old DJ, who passed away earlier this month. "I haven't sang his song that we did together ever since he passed away, until today."

During the moment of silence, Ora closed her eyes and appeared to be holding back tears. Avicii's birth and death dates (1989 - 2018) appeared on a screen behind her. "Thank you. This is for you, Avicii," she said before transitioning into a powerful performance of their song.

Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was known for such hits as "Wake Me Up" and "Hey Brother." His family released a statement last week suggesting that the musician died by suicide. "He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace," the statement reads.
