Here's What 'Ignition (Remix)' Would've Sounded Like In The '40s

Remixing all over the place.

In July, Postmodern Jukebox, the art collective that takes popular songs and remixes them with a vintage vibe, gave Britney Spears' "Oops! I Did It Again" a Marilyn Monroe-inspired twist.

In August, they turned a Titanic classic into a song reminiscent of the '50s, and we couldn't stop listening.

And on Friday, Postmodern Jukebox released a '40s cover of R. Kelly's "Ignition (Remix)" that serves up the song in a way we never imagined.

"Rayvon's effortless voice combines a soulful John Legend-like tone with phrasing elements of classic crooners like Frank Sinatra on this video.  It's fitting, then, that Sinatra's 100th birthday would have been only a few days from now," Scott Bradlee, the pianist, said in a post announcing the video's release.

Moreover, the remix's remix features a piano, a saxophone, and a trumpet, among other instruments, serving as super cool, swingy elements.

We're pretty sure you'll be listening to this one...  a lot.
