Luke Bryan's Heartwarming New Music Video Reminds Us How 'Fast' Life Goes By

A trip down memory lane.

Country star Luke Bryan's new music video for his single "Fast" celebrates life and the people we spend it with — and how quickly it all goes by.

Shots of Bryan performing the song (from his fifth studio album Kill the Lights) on guitar in an empty theater are intercut with heartwarming photographs of his life, from his childhood to his early days as a musician to his wedding to wife Caroline, as well as shots from Bryan's concerts and award show wins. It's a poignant illustration of the song's emotional lyrics about how "fast" life can pass us by.

"Sixty seconds now feels more like thirty / Tick-tock, won't stop, around it goes," Bryan sings in the chorus. "Sand through the glass sure falls in a hurry / And all you keep trying to do is slow it down, soak it in / Keep trying to make the good times last as long as you can / But you can't, man / It just goes too fast."

Bryan spoke to Sounds Like Nashville about the personal inspiration behind the song, and how he hopes it encourages those who listen to it to savor the moment. "Every time I come home my boys are bigger and starting to throw me around the house a little more, and one day I'll snap my fingers and you wish you could have froze time a little bit," he said. "And I think anytime you can help people slow down and reflect on that and remember to take things in stride a little bit better, I think people love hearing that in a song."

Speaking of Bryan's boys, the singer also shared a cute on-set video on Twitter in which his son tells him over the phone that he asked a girl out on a date.
