Lady Gaga's Explosive Super Bowl Performance Included A Very Special Shout-Out

"Hey, Dad. Hi, Mom."

No matter which team you were rooting for during Sunday's Super Bowl, Lady Gaga gave us all a reason to "just dance" during her electrifying halftime performance. She began on the roof of NRG Stadium in Houston, where she sang a powerful mash-up of "God Bless America" and "This Land Is Your Land" before descending onto the field attached to a wire.

Gaga then transitioned into an energetic medley of her greatest hits, from "Poker Face" to last year's "Million Reasons." It was during the latter song, performed at a keyboard in the midst of fans' swaying lanterns, that Gaga took a second to give a very special shout-out to a couple of audience members. "Hey, Dad. Hi, Mom," she said into the microphone with a smile, prompting the crowd to cheer.

Gaga hung out with her parents, Joe and Cynthia Germanotta, on the field before the big game. The star explained on Twitter that her sister Natali was also there, but she was "in the back sewing costumes." She added the hashtag #FamilyMatters.

After "Million Reasons" came the grand finale. Gaga underwent a lightning-fast costume change and launched into an explosive performance of her classic "Bad Romance," complete with a fireworks show. She closed things with signature Gaga pizzazz, by dropping the mic, catching a football, and disappearing onto the field below.
