We Dare You To Listen To Lady Gaga’s New Single 'Perfect Illusion' Without Dancing

It was worth the wait.

Thursday night, after sharing just enough artwork and teasers to whet our appetites, Lady Gaga finally premiered her new single, "Perfect Illusion."

It's been almost three years since Gaga's last solo album and one year since she released "Til It Happens To You," an emotional anthem for sexual assault survivors. As her Little Monsters would agree, it was well worth the wait.

The new track, which Gaga co-wrote and co-produced with Kevin Parker, Mark Ronson, and BloodPop, is the first single off her upcoming fifth studio album, which is due out later this year. If this song is any indication of what's to come, we're very excited.

Gaga shared her touching reaction to hearing the single on her Snapchat.

BloodPop described "Perfect Illusion" to Rolling Stone as "a big rock song that makes you want to dance." That sums it up pretty well, but you really have to hear it for yourself to understand. You'll most likely be tapping your feet and swinging your shoulders after only a few seconds.

In the song, Gaga rethinks a past romance. "It wasn't love / It wasn't love / It was a perfect illusion / Mistaken for love," she belts out in the chorus, reminding us just how powerful her voice is.

It's good to have you back, Gaga.
