Demi Lovato Ditches Happily Ever After To Show A Complex Love Story In New Music Video

Grab a tissue.

You would think that any wedding to Jesse Williams would end with the happiest of all happy ever afters, but not this one. Demi Lovato walks down the aisle to marry the Grey's Anatomy hunk in the "Tell Me You Love Me" video and, spoiler alert, things do not go as planned.

Instead of a cheesy love story, the clip tells a complex one — highlighting the highs and lows of relationships. In it, Williams proposes to Lovato and it seems like they're headed toward wedded bliss. Friends are told. Romance is had (if you know what we mean). And, unfortunately, drama abounds. Williams expresses apprehension but Lovato promises that they are ready.

When it's time for the big day, both Williams and Lovato are absolutely stunning. He looks sharp in a gray suit while Lovato is gorgeous in a strapless and embroidered gown. Everything seems to be going well until it's time for the vows themselves. In the end, Williams isn't ready to move forward and leaves Lovato at the altar, with the backing of a choir to sing those feelings.

On social media, the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer calls the nearly seven-minute clip "one of my favorite videos yet" and we have to agree. Opting to show the complicated nature of love, how there is both good and bad, is a brave choice and one that actually reflects reality.

All we know, though, is that we're going to keep this on repeat all weekend and keep hoping that, in addition to the raw and real storytelling, there is somehow a happy ending for these two characters.
