It's finally here! Christina Aguilera has released her new song with Demi Lovato, and it was well worth the wait. Not only does the track, titled "Fall in Line," show off both singers' powerhouse voices, but it also sends a timely and empowering message to women.

Aguilera and Lovato teased the song's release on Twitter this week, posting photos of themselves performing as children and including lyrics from the song, which begins, "Little girls / Listen closely / 'Cause no one told me / But you deserve to know."

"It's just the way it is / And maybe it's never gonna change / But I got a mind to show my strength / And I got a right to speak my mind," the women sing on the powerful chorus, bringing to mind movements such as #MeToo and Time's Up. "And I'm gonna pay for this / They're gonna burn me at the stake / But I got a fire in my veins / I wasn't made to fall in line."

On social media, Aguilera dedicated the song to "anyone who's ever felt silenced and repressed, the truth seekers and bold thinkers." She also posted a photo of herself and Lovato, writing that their "paths were destined to cross," and adding, "You are an inspiration for future young girls of your generation."

Lovato posted her own message, calling the collaboration a "bucket list item" and telling Aguilera, "It's such an honor to lend my voice to this anthem for women with one of the most inspiring individuals I've ever met."

The song's accompanying lyric video features close-up images of various women, with the lyrics written in marker. During the chorus, a group of women mouth along to the words.

Aguilera and Lovato will perform "Fall in Line" live this Sunday at the Billboard Music Awards. It's the third track Aguilera has debuted from her first new album in six years, Liberation. Earlier this month, she released the hip-hop-infused "Accelerate," and last week she shared the emotional ballad "Twice."

We can't wait to hear the rest of the album when it drops June 15.
