Charli XCX And Halsey Brought Girl Power To Lollapalooza With A Classic Spice Girls Cover

"Sing along if you know it."

Lollapalooza got nostalgic on Sunday, thanks to Charli XCX and Halsey. During her set at the Chicago music festival, Charli surprised the crowd by bringing Halsey on stage to perform a Spice Girls classic.

"You guys like girl power, right?" Charli asked the cheering crowd, before the opening notes of "Wannabe" started up. "Sing along if you know it."

After performing the first verse, Charli shouted for the audience to welcome Halsey, who was not scheduled at the festival. The two women proceeded to put on an energetic performance of the track, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of its U.S. debut this year.

It was clear that the song's message of female friendship resonated with the pair, who coordinated their dance moves and ended the song with a hug. They even shared some snaps together on Instagram, including a couple with rapper CupcakKe, who also appeared with Charli during her set, according to Cosmopolitan.

Girl power is definitely familiar to Charli, who just last month debuted her star-studded music video for "Boys," which she said was meant to "flip the male gaze on its head."

Fans of both Charli and Halsey have something to look forward to later this year. According to Rolling Stone, Halsey is bringing Charli XCX and PartyNextDoor to serve as opening acts on her upcoming Hopeless Fountain Kingdom Tour. Fingers crossed they bring their Spice Girls cover on the road — or another equally fabulous duet.
