Cartoon Bill Murray Singing About Being Happy Will Put A Smile On Your Face

Come for the positivity, stay for the pop culture nods.

We all know Bill Murray — legendary actor, hilarious comedian, all-around nice guy — but now we're seeing a whole new side of him: inspirational cartoon character.

The 66-year-old is front and center as the star of Paul Shaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band's latest song, "Happy Street," which features an animated version of the Ghostbusters alum singing about being happy.

"When life is feeling sweet / It has a certain beat / Everything's groovy when you're walking down Happy Street," the song begins. Then, repeated throughout the tune a few times, Murray offers up advice on turning a frown upside down: "When things ain't cool / Here's my one simple rule / Why not just change your point of view?"

The music video — directed by animator Jay Marks — features Murray and the former Late Show bandleader walking down what we can only assume is the titular street, joining up with an eclectic cast of characters and culminating in a parade-like finale.

Along the way, viewers see a biker who has been hit by a car, as well as a bank robbery in action. But those not-so-positive moments are quickly defused when the car's driver begins carrying the injured bicyclist, and the thief stops mid-robbery and dances with the police.

Also worthy of your attention are the little easter eggs to both Murray and Shaffer's careers. The two have worked together many times — from NBC's Saturday Night Live to Netflix's A Very Murray Christmas Special. For Shaffer, we see David Letterman on a TV in the background, and for Murray there are quick nods to characters from throughout his career.
