#GratefulNotHateful Campaign Shows You Don't Have To Wait For A Parade To Celebrate Pride

"I feel pride, or proud, every day of the year."

Pride Month might be drawing to a close, but there are still many ways to celebrate and bring awareness. To coincide with LGBTQ+ Pride Month 2018, Marc Jacobs beauty launched the #GratefulNotHateful campaign on June 21 to show that it's not necessary to wait for a parade to celebrate pride. It's something that we can recognize every day of the year.

The campaign sees members and supporters of the LGBTQ+ community representing each color of the pride flag. 

"In honor of Pride 2018, Marc Jacobs Beauty celebrates self-expression with all the colors of the rainbow," it says in a press release for the campaign. 


The campaign includes fashion designer Marc Jacobs representing blue with a striking eyeliner look. Other members in the campaign include the first black transgender model Tracey Norman as yellow, YouTuber and makeup artist Manny Gutierrez as violet, and transgender activist and model Hunter Schafer as orange.

The campaign will feature videos and portraits of all the individuals. Each person will talk about their day-to-day experiences and help foster a dialogue about Pride that can be considered throughout the year.

Jacobs, who frequently uses the #gratefulnothateful hashtag on his social media accounts to express gratitude for his day-to-day experiences. kicked off the campaign..

In his post, he states, "I feel pride, or proud, every day of the year."

He continues, "You don't have to wait for a parade, you can find ways to do that every day of your life, and someone will hear."

To coincide with the #GratefulNotHateful campaign, Marc Jacobs will donate $100,000 to LGBTQ+ charities around the world, including Le Refuge, SAGE, and Ackerman Institute for the Family
