The Inspiring Story Behind 'Two Blind Brothers' Who Created A Fashion Line To Help Find Cures For Eye Disease

Clairity: Watch Claire Chat With 'Two Blind Brothers' Founders, Bryan And Bradford Manning

Clairity is a series introducing readers to new fashion and beauty products from brands our host, Claire Peltier, believes in. These products not only help readers look and feel good, but have a positive impact on the world, the environment, and hopefully the user's self-image, too.

You might recognize Bryan and Bradford Manning. The two brothers recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss their amazing fashion line, Two Blind Brothers —  a collection with 100 percent of profits going toward preclinical research to cure eye disease. The line was inspired by their own experiences, as both brothers were diagnosed with a condition called Stargardt disease that causes them to lose their vision over time.

To learn more, we dedicated this episode of Clairity to speaking with Bryan and Bradford about their amazing work. We met them at their production space in New York City — a vibrant room filled with positive energy, and, of course, their super-soft tees that are designed based on sense of touch — and spoke to the brothers about how they started the collection, their keen attention to detail, and why it's so important for people to stay positive in the face of a challenge.

When asked how they inspire one another, Bryan said that as his big brother, Bradford had to go through life with a visual impairment first, and in that way, he became a role model.

"I always had to say, 'Somebody else has done this. This isn't impossible. I can get an A on this test. I can get into this college. I can play this sport. I can do all of these things, because he's done it before I have,'" Bryan said. "That is a huge vote of confidence to anybody, just to know that it isn't impossible."

Now, together, they're doing all they can to help others like them. And it's absolutely possible.
