8 Generations Of Women Talk About Their Bodies — Watch How The Conversation Goes

"I feel perfect. I don't know if I am, but I feel perfect."

As we all know, maintaining a healthy body image isn't just something young girls need to practice — it's important for the mental and physical health of people all ages, shapes, and sizes.

And in a recent video for Refinery2929 women across eight generations speak about their bodies in an open conversation regarding what it means to be comfortable in our skin, what social media does to our mindsets, and when we feel most beautiful, among other topics.

The women are grouped in threes based on their ages: elementary, middle school, high school, college, 20-somethings, 30-somethings, women in their 40s and 50s, and seniors. And so it begins.

The refreshing, honest conversation is one we can all relate to on one level or another.

Here are some of our favorite points:

High school: "Being comfortable in our own body, I think, is just loving yourself."

Senior: "When I was young, the perfect body image was supposed to be 34, 24, 34. Remember that? It took [me] a long time to realize that I was never going to have a 24-inch waist."

30-something: "I feel the best about myself when I've done something good for myself."

20-somethings: "I feel like there's this promise of [a] hot mom phase. There's just a sexiness to their fortitude that I'm like, that's more than I can boast right now."

Elementary: "I feel perfect. I don't know if I am, but I feel perfect."

Trust us, you are perfect.
