You Can Be Healthier This Week By Using These 5 Simple Hacks

It's easier than you think.

We all know cultivating a truly healthy lifestyle can sometimes be a challenge. But the good news is there are plenty of little things we can do, right here, right now, without completely turning our lives upside down. 

Baby steps, guys. It's totally doable.

Here are five tips on how you can easily make your week a tad more healthy. 


1. Substitute candy with berries.

Even though it's common knowledge you shouldn't feast on refined sugar, resisting those chocolate bars that are calling your name is easier said than done. 

But there's a great healthy alternative that can satisfy your sweet tooth — berries.

Instead of snacking on candies, donuts or muffins, have some berries. They are full of antioxidants, and are a good source of fiber

2. Pick up vitamins at your local Walgreens.

Because of our busy lifestyles, many of us are guilty of not maintaining a balanced diet.  When you grab a sandwich on the go, how often do you look at the nutrition facts? The answer is probably rarely.

While you might not change the pace of your life overnight, you can at least make sure you get the vitamins and minerals your body needs

Dr. Josh Axe suggests taking fish oil for nourishing skin, reducing inflammation, and reducing anxiety. According to Women's Health Mag, you should grab a box of vitamin A to boost your immune system, improve eye vision, and slow the process of skin aging. Stock up on vitamin D, as it's naturally present in very few foods.  Medical News Today claims vitamin D can help maintain healthy teeth and bones, as well as help prevent diseases like cancer, multiple sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes. 

3. Make drinking water a competition.

With the weather getting more and more chilly, it's easy to forget to drink the recommended nine to 13 glasses of water per day. 

Make a bet with your friends on who can drink a healthy amount of water every single day, because nothing is as motivating as participating in a competition with your BFFs. 

4. Take 20 minutes to meditate.

Taking 20 minutes each day to concentrate on yourself doesn't cost a thing, but the benefit to your general well-being is priceless. A consistent meditation practice can help you have better sleep, lower stress levels, and better focus

We say it's a worthy time investment.

5. Create a playlist as long as your workout.

Even better, make sure your favorite song comes last.

You see, quitting your workout routine early is always beyond tempting. No judgment, though, we've all been there. However, this can be avoided if you make sure your playlists are as long as your workouts. And let's get real, there's no way you are stopping before listening to Justin Bieber's "Sorry."
