Nowadays, you don't hear many people talking about that "good night's sleep" they had last night. Or how much energy they have on a Monday morning. Or how naps are overrated.

In fact, it's usually quite the opposite: we can't fall asleep, we guzzle coffee, and we need a nap.

But perhaps there's a way to fix that.

In a new video for Self magazine, the publication rounds up eight tricks for better sleep, including turning down our thermostats and turning off our screens 90 minutes prior to bedtime. 

And not only do we need sleep to function, but a lack of sleep is actually pretty bad for our health. In fact, sleep deprivation has been linked to health issues like obesity, heart disease, and memory distortion.
