There are so many exciting and eye-opening places to see in the world, so no one wants to spend the time, money, and effort on a trip that isn't worth it. Sometimes, those trips include some of the most talked about tourist locations. You get there and not only is everything in the area overpriced, but the attraction itself is nothing to write home about. But for every overrated tourist trap, there's many more places that are actually worth seeing. 

And who better to tell you about them than the people who have actually been? 


Reddit user OyeYouDer started a thread asking, "What famous tourist spot DOES live up to the hype?" The post received over 7,000 comments in just one day. Clearly, many people wanted to weigh in on the spectacular destinations that are definitely worth adding to your bucket list.
