The Rock Recalls The Time He Was A ‘Star Struck Bumbling Idiot’ When He First Met Robin Williams

And reveals details about the "Jumanji" remake.

As The Rock prepares for his role as both actor in and producer of the new "Jumanji" remake, he wants to do something special for the late Robin Williams.

We all remember watching Williams as Alan Parrish in the original 1995 film, where he helped two kids beat the most ridiculous board game ever conceived.

We're pretty sure there isn't one kid who didn't jump out of their seat when this lion came roaring down the steps after Judy (a young Kirsten Dunst) and Peter.

It's a good thing they had Parrish's help.

Now that a whole new generation of kids will witness the craziness for the first time, it makes sense to honor the actor who originally brought the magic to the screen.

The Rock announced in an Instagram post that he recently had a good meeting with his director Jake Kasdan, producer Matt Tolmach, and his Seven Bucks Productions company about how to carry the remake forward.

One important aspect of the film will be honoring Williams in a respectable manner.

While he didn't elaborate on how it will be done, he said, "you have my word, we will honor his name and the character of 'Alan Parrish' will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way. I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud."

Besides talking about honoring Williams, The Rock also spoke about the first time the two met backstage and how "Robin is somewhere lookin' down and laughing" remembering the situation.

He recalled how he was so blown away meeting the actor and comedian that he couldn't even come up with the right words to say to him.

He wrote, "I (for the first time ever) was a star struck bumbling idiot that couldn't even get my words out. Idiot. He literally calmed me down w/ that smile and laugh."

It's hard to imagine such a composed person like The Rock being starstruck, but it goes to show you it's hard not to be overwhelmed by a legend and their greatness.
