How Taylor Swift Gave Back To A Police Department Mourning One Of Its Officers

"The gesture was absolutely generous, significant and appreciated."

In a heartfelt gesture, Taylor Swift recently showed her support for a Massachusetts town in mourning over one of its police officers by donating tickets to her concert. Weymouth's Mayor Robert Hedlund told the Patriot Ledger that the singer gifted "a significant number of tickets" for last Thursday's performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough.

Earlier this month, Sgt. Michael Chesna was shot and killed in the line of duty. A female bystander was also reportedly shot and killed in her home as the suspect fled.

The tickets to Swift's concert were distributed to local police officers and firefighters. "There were enough to send every police officer, firefighter and extended family to the concert, and then some," Hedlund shared, calling the donation "low-key" and adding, "The gesture was absolutely generous, significant and appreciated."

Some social media users praised the singer for the donation, calling her a "class act" and applauding the "amazingly nice gesture."

It's just one way Swift has gone out of her way to show love for her fans over the years. In May, she visited a young burn victim in the hospital after learning the fan couldn't make it to her concert. She also invited a group of foster families to watch a dress rehearsal for her Reputation Tour earlier this year.

Previously, in 2016, the singer showed her generosity by donating $1 million to flood relief in Louisiana. We'd call that a pretty good "reputation."
