Cardi B Took Taylor Swift's Top Spot On The Charts, So Swift Sent Her Flowers

"I freaking love your music."

Taylor Swift's reign at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart has ended, but she's not mad about it. The singer's latest hit "Look What You Made Me Do" was usurped this week by Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" in the No. 1 spot, and Swift chose to show her support.

According to Billboard, a female rap artist hasn't topped the chart without another credited artist in almost 19 years — since Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)" in 1998. That's definitely a milestone worth congratulating, as Taylor Swift clearly knew just as much as anybody.

Swift's congratulations came in the form of a flower bouquet, which Cardi B shared on her Instagram account earlier this week. "Sooo beautiful and lovely," she wrote in the caption, thanking Swift for the gesture and adding, "I freaking love your music."

While some may expect or invent a rivalry between the two artists, Swift's gesture shows the power of female artists supporting each other in the face of a culture that frequently pits them against each other.

It's also not the first time Swift has sent flowers. Last year, she sent an arrangement to America's Got Talent winner Grace VanderWaal, whom Simon Cowell called "the next Taylor Swift." More recently, she sent several bouquets to the company that created Post-it note messages of support during her sexual assault trial.
