This Is How They Say 'Yes' In One Part Of Sweden

Do they have other "words" like this?

Sí, oui, ken, jes, hai, ndiyo, haa'n, 是 (shi), baleh, já, hanji, ano, da, nai, kyllä.

What do all these have in common? They all mean "yes" in some language from around the world.

And as different as they may be, they all have one thing in common — they are words. Words made up of actual characters with sounds assigned to them.

The same cannot be said for some Swedes' expression for "yes."

Though most Swedes say "ja" for "yes," in northern Sweden they do a little something different.

When Oliver Gee from The Local Europe interviewed residents in the northern Swedish city of Umeå he found the word for "yes" is not a word at all.

So cool.
