Stephen Curry Goes Off, Breaks His Own Record, May Win MVP

Somebody stop him.

Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry is making a strong case for MVP, and breaking his own records along the way.

The 27-year-old point guard has been in the most valuable player race all year, but after scoring 45 points on 17 of 23 shooting last night, he may have just sealed his fate. That eyebrow-raising shooting night also did something else: It broke an NBA record for three-pointers in a season when he hit his 273rd of the season. Whose record did he break? Well, his own, naturally.

As the game wound down, Curry took a few free throws while being showered in "MVP!" chants. They are well-earned, too. He's the best player on the NBA's top team, and the way he lights up the stat sheet while making his teammates better (he had 10 assists last night, too), is simply unmatched in the NBA this year.
