Terminally Ill St. Bernard Gets One Last Chance To Feel The Snow On Her Fur

RIP Sophia.

Right before doctors planned to put down Sophia the St. Bernard, her owner, Alyson Page, got a call that would make the dog's last wish come true.

The vet diagnosed the St. Bernard with bone cancer two months ago, telling Page her furry friend only had a few more weeks to live. Page explained that she would have paid whatever it took to treat Sophia, but doctors just said to make the 6-year-old dog comfortable.

So Page reached out to the Chill Factore in Manchester, England, and asked if she could bring Sophia in to complete one final wish on her bucket list: roll in the snow.

It said yes.

"She absolutely loves the snow," Page explains in the video. "I've been searching for ideas, just something to make the last time that we've got with her really special, because she's been such a special dog."

With the OK from the Chill, the two arrived at the snow play area yesterday where Sophia rolled around to her heart's contentment.

"Sophia was first on to our 180-metre slope this morning, nuzzling her head in the snow, wagging her tail excitedly, and playing with her half brother Yogi a five-year-old St. Bernard," wrote a Chill Factore employee.

"It's her last day, so it's just been a wonderful end for her," Page said. "I can't even begin to say how much we're going to miss her, but it's made me happy knowing that she's had such a wonderful day today."

Check out the two's video below.

Fly high, Sophia.
