Social media is making its way into surgery ... and that could be a good thing.

Dr. Shafi Ahmed recently used Snapchat's Spectacles to post 10-second clips of himself performing surgery. The short videos were watched by dozens of students who plan to work in the field, getting a point of view that will benefit them when they become doctors.

This isn't the first technological teaching Ahmed has done. He previously used a 360-degree camera to show his perspective while performing colon surgery.
