With One Photo, Simone Biles And Shaq Prove Athletes Come In All Shapes And Sizes

This might blow your mind.

On Sunday, shortly before the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, two more athletes had the internet buzzing. Gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles took to Instagram and Twitter to share a photo of herself posing next to basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal at the big game

"Hey Shaq," she captioned the pic, along with a waving hand emoji.

Their height difference — Biles is 4-foot-9 and Shaq is 7-foot-1 — had people doing a double take.

Nope, that's not Photoshopped, and your eyes are not tricking you. That's really what they look like. Note that Biles is even wearing heels.

Earlier this week, Biles interviewed the Falcons' tallest player — tight end Levine Toilolo (6-foot-8) — for Inside Edition. Shaq still has several inches on him.

The new photo quickly captured the attention of social media, and it has since received more than 300,000 Instagram likes and 48,000 retweets. Twitter users had a lot of fun with it.

All jokes aside, the image is also all the proof you need that athletes come in all shapes and sizes, and you don't have to look a certain way to be a champion. Both Biles and Shaq represent the best their respective sports have to offer, and they also happen to be about as different as athletes could be.

It sends an encouraging message to those who are struggling to accept themselves. As Biles (who recently posed for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue with Olympic teammate Aly Raisman) said in response to a body-shaming Twitter troll last year, "You all can judge my body all you want, but at the end of the day it's MY body. I love it & I'm comfortable in my skin."
