When Someone Called Her A Bad Role Model, Simone Biles Didn't Downplay Her Accomplishments

"Take a couple seats."

Gymnast Simone Biles has been sharing quite a few vacation photos on Instagram recently. Considering her incredible performance in last year's Olympic games, not to mention her Dancing With the Stars participation earlier this year, many would say the 20-year-old deserves to take a break and have some fun.

At least one person, however, doesn't think Biles should be spending so much time at the beach, and commented as much on one of her recent posts.

"Seems like u have partied non stop for a year #trash #unfollow #suckyassrolemodel," read the comment, which has since been deleted, according to the Huffington Post.

Biles shared a screenshot of the comment on Twitter over the weekend, along with her response. The gymnast didn't downplay her hard work, instead opting for a confident reminder of her accomplishments.

"Talk to me when you train for 14 years and earn 5 Olympic Medals," Biles wrote. "I think kids would say otherwise. My year off is well deserved! Take a couple seats."

Biles' followers were quick to defend her right to take some time for herself.

Biles is no stranger to shutting down criticism. Last year, she fired back at body shamers on Twitter, writing, "You all can judge my body all you want, but at the end of the day it's MY body."

Then on Dancing With the Stars earlier this year, when host Tom Bergeron questioned why she wasn't smiling after the judges' critique, she had an all-star response: "Smiling doesn't win you gold medals."

We'd say that confidence, in addition to all her hard work, is more than enough reason to look up to her.
