Simone Biles Doesn't Give A Hoot About What You Think Of Her Body

She's too busy being an Olympic-winning gymnast.

In August, Simone Biles posted a photo on Instagram of her and fellow Team USA gymnasts Aly Raisman and Madison Kocian on a beach in Rio de Janeiro after they destroyed every single category in their sport at the Olympics. The three of them, resplendent under the hot Brazilian sun, looked as powerful as the top gymnasts in the world should. And though many people praised and congratulated them for their domination at the games, they also received their fair share of insults from people who thought their athleticism was "unattractive."

Biles' elevated profile has exposed her to many opinions, including ones that criticize her body, proving once again that no matter how your body looks — even if you're an Olympic gold medal winning athlete at 19 does gravity-defying feats for a living — criticism will follow.

But Biles isn't concerned about the judgment. On Tuesday, she took to Twitter to address body-shamers. "You all can judge my body all you want, but at the end of the day it's MY body," she wrote. "I love it & I'm comfortable in my skin."

Less than 24 hours later, Biles' tweet has been shared more than 2,400 times and "liked" by more than 20,000 people. Many lauded her confidence, but more than that, this powerful message about body image from an Olympic star is perhaps the one we all needed to hear.
