How To Pour The Perfect Beer Every Time

Just in time for Labor Day.

No Labor Day weekend cookout is complete without a nice cold beer to wash down those burgers and hot dogs.

Of course, the fastest way to ruin a great beer is with a bad pour, yielding nothing but a glass full of foam. Oh sure, it'll settle down after a while, but what's left behind is a flat, unenjoyable mess.

The good news is, there is a way to make sure you're getting the perfect pour every single time.

How? It's all about understanding the science of beer.

As Hank Green from SciShow explains, there is a simple way to make sure that every beer you drink is poured perfectly every single time. The secret is understanding the chemistry of how the carbonation of the beer interacts with the glass it's being poured into.

If you've ever been to a local brewery, you will probably also notice that before pouring your beer, they'll usually quickly rinse out the glass. This removes any tiny particles like dust that could become nucleation sites, making sure that you're getting the maximum enjoyment out of the beer they worked so hard to craft.
