Ryan Reynolds Congratulates 'Wonder Woman' On Its Box Office Success In The Most Deadpool Way Possible

Fingers crossed for a Marvel-DC crossover.

Marvel and DC Comics might be competitors, but that doesn't mean that their intellectual properties — in this case, superheroes — can't get along. Ryan Reynolds showed just that with a recent Instagram photo, clad as Deadpool, congratulating Wonder Woman on its box office success.

We all know the Patty Jenkins-directed flick has been taking the world by storm (and meaning a lot to many people in the process) ever since it hit the big screen, but it did just cross an important threshold. It has officially surpassed Deadpool at the domestic box office, nudging ahead of its $363 million with about $368.5 million, according to Box Office Mojo's latest figures.

"The Merc May Be Filthier, but Her B.O. is Stronger. Congrats #WonderWoman," the tweet — which Reynolds retweeted — reads. The photo shows Deadpool wearing some Wonder Woman-inspired bling while using his fingers to create a heart-shaped frame.

While the use of "B.O." is a bit of a tongue-in-cheek move, the love shown toward the Gal Gadot-starring flick is certainly a nice gesture. Jenkins, for one, took note of the photo.

"You are the absolute greatest, Ryan Reynolds @VancityReynolds Thank you! We love you and your movie too," Jenkins tweeted in response, adding hashtags for Deadpool and the upcoming Deadpool 2 along with a flurry of heart emojis.

Reynolds does have some room to brag — at least for the time being. Per Box Office Mojo, Deadpool still comes ahead at the worldwide box office with $783.1 million compared to Wonder Woman's $745.5 million. With the warrior princess still playing, though — and the formidable force she's been on the screen — it's only a matter of time.
