Boy's Video Looking For A Forever Home For His Four-Legged Friend Goes Viral

“I should just say he’s really friendly."

Dogs may be man's best friend, but one in particular is the best friend of six-year-old Roman. In a video posted on his mom's Facebook page, Roman tells the story of Legend, a five-and-a-half-year-old deaf Labrador retriever who Roman hangs out with at the local Humane Society and who also is in need of a forever home.

Sitting in his car seat, Roman explains that it would be best if Legend could find a home with people who are experienced with deaf dogs, shares that he and Legend like to read together and talks about Legend's tickle spot on his chest that makes his back leg go up and down.

"I should just say he's really friendly," Roman says in the video.

Legend isn't the only dog Roman and his mom Jennifer McConn have helped out. McConn runs her own organization called Project Freedom Ride that cares for and rescues dogs from kill shelters in Texas. Roman's family has two dogs at home, but he also likes to spend time with the animals at Skagit Valley Humane Society in Burlington, Washington. Roman's mom Jennifer McConn told KING 5 News that for his fourth birthday, instead of presents, he asked for donations to a local animal rescue.

"Typically dogs that are in the humane society are our first priority to visit but there is always one or two non-Project Freedom Ride dogs that pull on our heart strings, like Legend," McConn told Mashable.

As of publication, Roman's video has been watched over 40,000 times.

"That was absolutely the best video ever!!" one commenter wrote. "What a sweetheart your boy is! Roman, you've done a wonderful and brilliant thing! I'm so proud of you! I bet Legend is too!!"
