Riz Ahmed Reminds Us Just How Multitalented He Is In A Rap Battle With James Corden

Riz MC drops the mic.

Is there anything Riz Ahmed can't do? We're beginning to wonder.

You might recognize the British actor from any number of hit TV shows and movies — including The Night Of, Girls, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But if you're a fan of his work as Riz MC and one-half of the Swet Shop Boys, you also know that he can spit a mean rhyme.

So you have to admire Late Late Show host James Corden for challenging Ahmed to a rap battle on his show Monday night. Corden has taken on quite a few celebrities in the ring, but this might be his toughest match yet.

"You rap in real life, right? You're a real rapper?" Corden asks before they begin.

"Yeah, I do, yeah," Ahmed replies.

"We'll see," Corden says ominously.

The two Brits take turns hurling some clever disses at each other, throwing in a few topical references for good measure — all in good fun, of course. "He sings and dances cute. Isn't that Ellen?" Ahmed wonders about the host. Corden, meanwhile, isn't really feeling Ahmed's role in Star Wars: "He made me miss the days of Jar Jar Binks."
