Non-Models Recreated The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show And Felt Empowered In The Process

"Can I be body positive in front of an army of people when I'm practically naked?"

How many of us can realistically look like this?

Almost nobody. That's who.

"When you watch the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, the joke is that all women are crying and eating ice cream because you want to look like that."

In a new BuzzFeed video, women of all different body types, ages, backgrounds, and identities walk the runway in lingerie, wings, and heels to prove any woman can look just as stunning as a Victoria's Secret model when they feel confident in their own skin.

"I hope to grain a new found confidence because this is a side of myself I don't really engage with," one participant said.

"There are days where I'm feeling myself, and then there are days where I just don't want to exist in the body I live in," another woman shared.

But despite their self-doubts, this diverse group of women managed to totally rock the show and feel empowered in the process. "I'm taking away a great sense of gratitude for all of my flaws," one woman said. "I'm, like all the rest of these girls, embracing it and loving it."

Watching these women push past their insecurities and feel more confident in their own bodies might just inspire you to do the same. You don't have to put on your own fashion show in lingerie, but there's plenty of other things you can do. Rock that fashion trend you think "just wouldn't look good on you," ask out whoever interests you regardless of what "league" you might think they're in, or just spend a day refusing to be modest.
