Dad Confined To A Wheelchair Stands Up To Walk His Daughter Down The Aisle

You're going to need the tissues.

Fathers walking their daughters down the aisle is a tradition that has been around for centuries. But the walk an Old Orchard Beach, Maine, father and daughter taken last weekend stands out among the rest.

Ralph Duquette fought and won against leukemia, but faced many obstacles along the way, including a coma and having to use a wheelchair. He was determined, however, to not have "missing walking his daughter down the aisle" be one of them.

According to WCSH 6, Duquette practiced walking with physical therapists for weeks and when Heather's big day came, put his hard work to good use.

In a video captured by one of the wedding attendees, we see Duquette rise out of his wheelchair, and though wobbly, make it to grab his daughter's hand. Slowly, but surely, they make their way down the aisle.

Watch below, but be warned, you'll need the tissue box handy.
