'SNL' Cast Member Pete Davidson Shares News Of His Sobriety In A Positive Message To Fans

"Remember to never give up hope because sometimes that's all we got."

Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson got personal on Instagram this week. The 23-year-old deleted all of his old posts and used the fresh start to share news of his sobriety with fans, explaining that he hadn't been present on the show as much due to his efforts to quit drugs.

"Just wanted to let you guys know I'm okay," he wrote. "I know I've kinda been missing, on social media and on the show. I quit drugs and am happy and sober for the first time in 8 years. It wasn't easy, but I got a great girl [Cazzie David, daughter of Larry David], great friends and I consider myself a lucky man."

Davidson — who joined SNL in 2014 and is currently its youngest cast member — went on to share a message of support and encouragement for his fans, writing, "I'll always be here for you guys, I promise. Remember to never give up hope because sometimes that's all we got. We are a family and I appreciate all your love and support. It's nice to be back in action."

The comedian's followers, meanwhile, shared positive words in the comments. "Proud of you man. Keep fighting those demons," wrote one, while another told him, "Wishing you love and success. May you find clarity and peace."

We commend Davidson for sharing his story and look forward to seeing what he has in store.
