James Corden Transforms Into A Beatle In Carpool Karaoke With Paul McCartney

"Baby, you can drive my car."

James Corden welcomed a very special guest to Carpool Karaoke on Thursday night's Late Late Show — none other than Sir Paul McCartney. Together, the pair drove around Liverpool singing Beatles classics (as well as a new solo track), reminiscing about decades past, and surprising a few fans.

Obviously, they started things off with a little "Drive My Car," and Corden really did let the music legend take a few turns behind the wheel. McCartney shared the emotional story behind "Let It Be," and Corden teared up remembering his grandfather and father's love for the song.

"If my granddad was here right now, he'd get an absolute kick out of this," Corden said.

"He is," McCartney told him.

Eventually, they ended up at McCartney's childhood home, where he recalled writing music with John Lennon. A crowd gathered outside, and later in the day, another captive audience accumulated at a local pub where McCartney put on a surprise show — including a duet of "Hey Jude" with Corden.

Unfortunately, Corden didn't wear one of his Beatles costumes to perform. McCartney advised him to "stick to polo shirts and jeans," so that's what he did.
