The Trailer For The All-Female 'Ocean's 8' Is Here, And Twitter Can't Handle It

We love to see strong women in lead roles.

The Ocean's 11 series is back, and this time, it's all about about the ladies. The first trailer for Ocean's 8 has arrived, and we're already marking our calendars for June 8, 2018.

Sandra Bullock stars in the heist film as Debbie Ocean, sister of George Clooney's character, Danny Ocean. She puts together a group of women (Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina) to rob the Met Gala. Anne Hathaway is the star whose expensive necklace they're after.

Many on Twitter are reacting to this morning's first look with excitement. The trailer itself already has over 10,000 retweets, and users are sharing GIFs and screencaps of their favorite moments — and just generally celebrating the promise of a female-led blockbuster starring such a talented and beloved group of women.

Of course, as we saw last summer with the all-female Ghostbusters, women-led reboots of popular movies can attract their fair share of haters and trolls. However, star Sandra Bullock isn't worried about the backlash.

When asked by Entertainment Weekly if the cast has faced any negative comments, Bullock responded, "We got some but boy, I mean, I'll tell you, we've got some feisty women that will fight right back. It's like, let's just take a breath and let's just see if we come up with something fun. There should be a moratorium. There should be a rule, you're not allowed to say anything nasty until after it comes out. Obviously that's never going to happen."
