This year marks the 60th anniversary of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition. To mark this milestone, Nick Offerman teamed up with First Lady Michelle Obama to star in Funny or Die's "History of Exercise," a crash course in six decades of wacky fitness fads.

Set to historically accurate tunes that make you want to get up and move, Nick goes from contraption to contraption to get in shape.


First up is the famous vibrating belt of the '50s.

Nick's wife Megan Mullally stops by to zap his abs into shape, but he's not really feeling it.

By the time the 1980s roll around, Nick is having some trouble with the ThighMaster.

Thankfully, the First Lady shows up just in time to give him some much-needed motivation. She has plenty of experience encouraging physical fitness as part of her Let's Move! initiative, which seeks to reduce childhood obesity by getting kids active and eating healthy foods.

"Come on, Nick, you can do it!" she says from her inspirational thought bubble. "Get back out there and exercise!" Now if only she could give the rest of us pep talks at the gym ...

Mrs. Obama gives Nick the inspiration to get back in the game and try his hand at the Shake Weight.
