NASA Shows Everyone On Facebook How To Shut Down Climate Change Deniers

Science for the win.

On Monday, Bill Nye "The Science Guy" posted an interesting article to his Facebook page about a $20,000 bet he made with a prolific climate change denier to prove the link between fossil fuels and global warming.

Immediately, climate change deniers latched onto the Facebook post and began questioning the validity of climate change. One of them went as far as to claim that a NASA study found that fossil fuels were actually cooling the planet.

That's when the official NASA Climate Change Facebook page responded by dropping some serious science.

"Do not misrepresent NASA," they wrote. "Fossil fuels are not cooling the planet."

As more climate change deniers responded to the post, NASA fired back with facts.

The good news is that, thanks to the efforts of scientists at NASA and other organizations, the number of Americans who recognize the reality of climate change has increased from 61 percent in 2014 to 70 percent in 2015. (Though that's still not enough.)

And that's why the people of Facebook thanked NASA for stepping in and saving the day.
