How Millie Bobby Brown Chose To Honor The Parkland Victims At The Kids' Choice Awards

"For the angels among us, your spirit lives on."

Millie Bobbie Brown wore her heart on her sleeve when attending the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday — the same day the Parkland school shooting survivors led the March For Our Lives to demand action on gun reform.

The 14-year-old Stranger Things actress walked the orange carpet in a custom Calvin Klein outfit, with the words "March For Our Lives" across the back, followed by the names of the 17 people who were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last month. The front of the shirt read "Never Again."

Brown, who plays Eleven on the popular Netflix series, thanked Calvin Klein on Twitter "for being such a champion of important causes and efforts to create positivity in this world." The brand itself also gave the actress a shout-out and applauded the March For Our Lives "and all those who support its mission in shaping a better future."

Brown also won the Favorite TV Actress award during the ceremony, and used her prepared speech as another opportunity to shine a light on the efforts of the Parkland students, as well as remembering the victims. She began by saying that the day's demonstrations "have inspired me and impacted us all in one way or another."

"I'm privileged to have a voice that can be heard, one that I can use to hopefully make a positive difference and help influence change," Brown shared. "OK, so there's an amazing support, love, and kindness in this room right now, and I want to encourage everyone to embrace it and to pass it on."

Brown, who has previously spread positivity on social media through an anti-bullying Twitter account, dedicated her award to those who lost their lives, saying, "For the angels among us, your spirit lives on. This is for you."
