McDonald's Was Criticized For Opening Near The Vatican, But Its Response Is Amazing

The Vatican is one of Earth's holiest sites, so it's no surprise many people were unhappy when it was announced that a McDonald's would be opening nearby

To be fair, lots of businesses surround the complex that makes up The Vatican, but Mickey D's drew particular ire over this new location, as some misunderstood it to be opening inside the Catholic Church's hallowed halls. 

But the fast-food restaurant has responded to the scrutiny in the best way by giving away food to homeless people who reside in Vatican City. The company hopes to make this a weekly event, one that's also cutting back on wasted food.
