Maybelline's First-Ever Male Ambassador Slays In This Mascara Campaign

"I think boys deserve just as much cosmetic recognition."

We're only a few days into 2017, but there has already been a few brilliant beauty announcements: First, Caitlyn Jenner launched a full makeup collection with MAC Cosmetics that is meant for everybody, and now Maybelline has named its first-ever male beauty ambassador, Manny Gutierrez.

Gutierrez is the face of the Big Shot Mascara campaign along with fellow beauty blogger Shayla Mitchell.

Maybelline's announcement comes after the beauty brand hired its first Asian ambassador, I-Hua Wu, in May 2016, and after CoverGirl revealed its first "CoverBoy," James Charles, in October 2016.

With a staggering 3 million Instagram followers and 2.1 YouTube subscribers, Gutierrez has amassed a popular following thanks to his fierce looks, fun personality, and belief that beauty is for everyone. As his Instagram bio reads, "I think boys deserve just as much cosmetic recognition."

Fashionista reported that Gutierrez expressed what an exciting opportunity this is in a statement. He said, "[I'm] thrilled to be able to work with a global brand like Maybellene that is recognizing male influencer talent and is willing to shine a spotlight on it."
