7 Myths About Alcohol Everyone Needs To Stop Believing

Celebrations of all kinds can cause the alcohol to flow, but nobody likes the all-consuming pain and regret of the next-day hangover. While there are some good hangover cures out there, many people have tried to cheat the system with alcohol hacks to avoid getting overly drunk (aside from, you know, just drinking less).

Some of the most common ones include:

Beer before liquor, never been sicker. Liquor before beer, you're in the clear.

Take pain killers before you go to bed to prevent a hangover before it starts!

Eating greasy food prevents you from getting drunk.

Almost everyone has probably heard of these — or maybe even tried them.

There's only one problem: they don't work.


While some of them seem like they would work in the heat of the moment while using drunk-person logic, the actual chemistry is quite different.
