This NFL Player Had An Amazing Surprise For His Mother And Sister With Cerebral Palsy

It comes after a rough year.

In an emotional Instagram post, NFL player Marquise Goodwin shares the moment he surprised his mother and sister with a new home.

Goodwin's wife, Morgan, explains on her blog that growing up, Marquise and his family moved every year. After he moved out, his mother continued renting homes, never having a place to call home.

"His mom knew we were buying her a house but she didn't know we were already working on buying her a brand new house," Morgan continues, adding that they shopped for used homes with Marquise's mother but ultimately ended up surprising her with something brand new.

"We only looked at one because it was just what he was looking for, especially for his sister," Morgan writes. Marquise's sister Deja has cerebral palsy. "His mom probably thought we stopped looking and got busy. However, we were fully invested in finishing this process before we left to go back to California."

In a video on Marquise's Instagram and YouTube channel, the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver removes blindfolds from his mother and sister's eyes, and shows them their new home.

"I know mama ... I can feel your energy in this video! All the obstacles WE have overcome ... Man ... I love you so much mama ... thank you for EVERYTHING! Especially blessing me with a sis like my Deja!!!" he writes.

"If Deja wasn't my sister, I feel like I would still be motivated but not in the way that I am today," Goodwin told ESPN in 2013. The outlet reports that doctors thought Deja wouldn't live beyond 6 months, but she will be turning 27 this September. "Having a disabled sister, that's a lot more motivation, especially when she tells you growing up that she wishes she can be out there with the kids playing and she wishes she can be out there running around."

"She's very inspirational to me. To me, no doctor can determine when it's your time to go. God really knows, and he's the only one who can really give you the day. You just have to keep the faith and live the best you can each day."

This special moment comes after a particularly rough year for Goodwin and his wife, in which they lost their son to pregnancy complications and Goodwin's father passed away.

And Goodwin isn't the only NFL star to purchase a new home for their parents. Just last month, the New York Giants Saquon Barkley gifted his mother and father with a new place in Pennsylvania.
