Here's What The Lives Of Characters From Classic Novels Would Look Like If They Had Modern Technology

Would Juliet have swiped left on Romeo?

Ever wonder what the lives of classic literary tales would look like if they just had access to modern technology?

Content strategist Matt Lindley has. He worked with designer Jazmin Batisti to create a series of illustrations that show how some of our favorite characters from classic stories would use the apps we have today.

"We're constantly told how modern technology has made our lives easier and solved our problem, so this got us thinking about how modern tech could have also been applied to the problems in literary history," Lindley told A Plus. "If Sam and Frodo had Google Maps, they could have saved themselves a lot of trouble getting to Mordor. And if the White Rabbit had access to Uber, he might never have been so late.

He admits these changes would make the stories a lot more boring, but it's still fun to think about. The illustrations were commissioned by digital publishing platform FlipSnack

"We wanted to avoid depicting characters that would only appeal to literature fans and focus on ones that were widely known throughout popular culture," Lindley said. "This meant drawing on classic novels and children's stories that many of us grew up with. The only criteria was that there was a strong link between the characters and the social platforms without needing to explain too much."

See which characters they chose below:

1. Juliet would find love on Tinder.

2. The White Rabbit would never be late.

3. Aslan the Lion would be Instagram famous.

4. Willy Wonka would find inspiration for his next candy creation on Pinterest

5. Frodo would use Google Maps to find the fastest, orc-free route to Mordor

6. Holden Caulfield would post tons of angsty tweets on Twitter

7. Oliver Twist would review his workhouse on TripAdvisor

8. The Very Hungry Caterpillar would just order food on GrubHub and be less hangry.
