Buying This Lipstick Can Help Reunite Immigrant Families

#FamiliesBelongTogether

Although news that President Donald Trump signed an executive order on June 20 to end his administration's zero-tolerance immigration policy, there is still concern for how separated families will be reunited.

Many are taking action by raising money for organizations meant to protect these families. George and Amal Clooney, for example, announced they'd be donating $100,000 to the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights and Eva Longoria used the birth announcement of her first child to bring attention to the issue

The support is coming in all forms — even through a lipstick brand.

Lipstick brand, Lipslut, pledged to donate 100 percent of its F*ck Trump Lipstick profits to helping organizations dedicated to reuniting separated families.

Lipslut launched the F*ck Trump Matte Liquid Lipstick in 2017. Since its release, it has been supportive of charitable causes. The brand states on its website that 50 percent of earnings from the neutral pink shade go toward "helping a civil rights organization targeted by the Trump administration." Buyers have the chance to vote for the organization with every purchase.

Previously, Lipslut raised over $40,000 to support those impacted by the Charlottesville violence after it pledged to donate 100 percent of profits in August 2017.

In light of the crisis at the Mexico-U.S. border that resulted in families being separated, Lipslut announced on Instagram it would once again be upping its donation to 100 percent of profits until July 19, 2018, but this time it will be donating to the separated families impacted by the zero-tolerance policy.

When buyers go to make their purchase, they will still be able to cast their vote for which charity they would like to see the funds donated to, with "Fight Zero Tolerance" being the one to help support separated immigrant families.

The pledge shows how something as seemingly small as lipstick can make a difference.
