Anchor Lestor Holt Opens Up To Jimmy Fallon About Being A Grandfather

"Everything they say about being a grandparent is true."

Lester Holt is the host of NBC Nightly News and Dateline, but he's also added a new, personal title to his resume: grandfather.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Holt opens up about what it's like being a grandfather to his 5-month-old grandson, Henry.

"It's the best," Holt tells Fallon, admiring a photo of Henry on Christmas day. "It's such a great feeling ... Everything they say about being a grandparent is true. You get to experience the love, the joy," he says. But then, "at the appropriate time," you can hand the kid back "and get a full night's sleep. And not feel guilty. But it's really special."

TODAY points out that "Stefan (Holt's son) and Morgan welcomed their son in the early hours of Sept. 6, 2017." At the time, Holt tweeted:

We love hearing someone talk so fondly about becoming a grandparent, and hopefully, this reminds all grandparents and grandchildren to appreciate their own special relationships, too.
