This Woman Asking Her Dad To Adopt Her At A Hockey Game Is Actual Goals

Hockey goals, family goals, and more.

For Lauren Flores-Walton, 26, heading to the Boston Bruins game wasn't just about hockey — it was an opportunity to ask one important man to adopt her.

In a post shared on Instagram, Flores-Walton explained how she would head to the Bruins game with her dad and her grandfather. "For those who don't know, I have an insanely lucky story when it comes to my dad," she wrote.

Flores-Walton says her biological father stepped out of her life and it was "the best thing he could have done for me."

"Then here comes Scott [Dunster], who fell in love with my mother and a 3-month-old me," she wrote. Dunster and Flores-Walton's mother eventually got divorced, but Flores-Walton remained close to Dunster through the years.

"And I will forever be grateful for that. He CHOSE to be my dad, and the only thing that was ever in our way of making it official was some stupid paperwork my biological father would never sign or send back. Well now he has no say, and I think 26 years is long enough. It may be just a piece of paper, but to us, I know it will mean more, and no matter the outcome he will always be my dad. So wish me luck when I show him this sign tonight ..." the post continues. Additionally, Flores-Walton attached a photo of herself holding up a sign (that she crafted in the bathroom) asking if Dunster will adopt her.

Flores-Walton then posted another video to Instagram showing the moment her dad saw the sign in the stands. With a smile, he said, "I want to."

"It was a nice moment," Flores-Walton told Yahoo! Lifestyle. "It shows that miscellaneous people can come together and be a family." The publication added that the family will now take on paperwork and (what can be) a long adoption process.

Flores-Walton's video has been viewed over 15,000 times on Instagram since she shared it.

"Congrats, you can see the love on his face!" one person commented.

This isn't the first time we've seen children surprise their soon-to-be parents with special adoption asks and vice-versa. Earlier this year, for example, one stepfather broke down in tears when his step-daughter surprised him with adoption papers.
